What are we learning?
Letterland: identify the names and sounds, and write letters using the correct letter formation. Continue to practice sight words (see homework for word list)
Reading: Understand that there are many ways to read a story. Readers can read the pictures, read just the words they know, retell a familiar story or read all the words on a page.
Math: Mathematicians can match numerals to quantities (to 10) subitize to 10 using a ten-frame, count on from a 5-group, and be able to rote count to 40.
Writing: Writers can write like a scientist, using observations to write details. Write sentences that match their pictures using the sounds they hear and sight words.
Science: Scientists can use the 5 senses to describe the observable properties of objects. Sort and describe objects based on physical properties (size, shape, color, texture, etc)
Social Studies: None at this time.
